During the Month of November 2025 to Honor

Del Monte Grill & Café's 20^th Anniversary

 

October 2025 Monterey, CA. Celebrate our shared love of history at Del Monte Grill & Cafe, located at 2030 North Fremont next to the Monterey Bay Travelodge. Enjoy breakfast (served all day) and support the Monterey History and Art Association in honor of 20 years of history of the Del Monte Grill & Café, located right off Highway 1 with ample parking.

Throughout the month of November 2025, Chef Manuel Aviles, owner of Del Monte Grill & Cafe, and his wife, General Manager, Malyory Aviles, will generously donate 15% of the revenue from breakfast purchases to the organization when diners mention the Monterey History and Art Association benefit!

Delicious breakfast classics include an array of 16 diverse omelets, from meat lovers to veggie, and much more, six variations of Eggs Benedict such as Turkey/Avocado, Spanish, Baby Shrimp and more, Huevos Rancheros, Eggs Florentine, Chocolate Chip and Blueberry Pancakes, French Toast and more.

According to Gary Spradlin, President of the Monterey History and Art Association (MHAA) which was founded in 1931, "We are very grateful to Chef/Owner Manuel Aviles of Del Monte Grill & Cafe for his generous support of Monterey History and Art Association. We honor his 20 years of history of his restaurant in Monterey. Thank you for making a difference, one breakfast at a time!"

About the Monterey History and Art Association    

The Mission of the Monterey History and Art Association is to share the histories and the diverse legacies of people, stories, and places that continue to shape Monterey.

From its founding in 1931, the Monterey History & Art Association's primary mission has been to help preserve the irreplaceable reminders of Monterey's colorful heritage. Over the past seven decades, the Association has worked closely with the City of Monterey, the California Department of Parks and Recreation, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and other agencies. As a result, more old adobes have been preserved and restored in Monterey than anywhere else in California.

The Association instituted Monterey's historic landmark program and created the Path of History which guides visitors to historic sites in old Monterey. It possesses extensive collections of furnishings, paintings, photographs, costumes, books, manuscripts, and other artifacts.

The Monterey History at Stanton Center at 5 Custom House Plaza, with parking in the Waterfront Lot next to Old Fisherman's Wharf, has a fascinating array of historic art exhibits and special events. It is open Thursday – Monday, from Noon – 5 pm. Casa Serrano 412 Pacific Street is open from Noon – 2 pm on Saturday and Sundays. The Association has been a guiding force in Monterey's vital historic stewardship. The guarding of Monterey's precious community assets and the preservation and presentation of its historical heritage for future enjoyment has been made possible by citizens who care and give generously of their time and resources.

"It is beyond contradiction that every important historical event in California from 1770 to 1848 began or ended in Monterey, and that the buildings associated with these events are the greatest of Monterey's tangible assets. Monterey's historical background, its old buildings, and its artistic setting are unique among all the states of the West, and it is not only its civic duty, but also its civic advantage, to remember that background, to preserve its old buildings, and to build with its historical past in mind."

Colonel Roger S. Fitch, first President and distinguished holder of that office for 17 years, thus expressed the motivation and prime objective of the founding members of the Monterey History and Art Association.

About Chef Manuel Aviles – Owner of Del Monte Grill & Cafe

Chef Manuel Aviles, owner of Del Monte Grill & Cafe on North Fremont, has been a cornerstone of Monterey's culinary scene for decades. Originally from El Salvador, Manuel moved to the area in 1984, growing up near Cannery Row. He found that he enjoyed helping his family with cooking.
