About Miss Fortune (Skylar Walters)

Miss Fortune (Skylar Walters) is a 22-year-old Central Coast musical artist and fifth-year accounting major at California State University, Monterey Bay. Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, she has had a passion for music and live performance since birth. She began producing beats at age 12 and has since become a live performer, musical composer for films, instrumentalist (self-taught pianist and guitarist) and recording artist. Producing beats involves composing and arranging the instrumental, percussive, and melodic backing track—most commonly for hip-hop, rap, trap, R&B, or electronic music—that a singer or rapper performs over.

Since releasing her first project at age 16, Miss Fortune has released nine musical projects. She has performed at Old Capitol Books, the Monterey Museum of Art(La Mirada), and California State University, Monterey Bay events including Otterlands and the All Black Gala.

Through her music, Miss Fortune aims to uplift women, survivors of abuse and assault, and members of her community. She is currently on a mission to expand her artistry's reach across the Central Coast and the Bay Area while creating meaningful spaces for connection, expression, and healing.

"This show is a chance to celebrate Halloween a little early and on the holiday itself and shake what ya mama blessed you with. Life is heavy right now—but when has it ever not been? I'm creating a space where guests can release their burdens and enjoy an interactive, dynamic performance," said Miss Fortune.
