Monterey dentist Jeanette Kern, DDS retires and sells her practice to nationally recognized local dentist, Dr. Sarah Frahm

April 2018. Monterey, CA.  Dr. Sarah Frahm has recently purchased Dr. Jeanette Kern’s dental practice in Monterey, where she is now the leader of an all-female team of accomplished dental professionals in the former Monterey office of Dr. Kern.

Dr. Kern’s former hygienist and front office staff have remained at the practice and enjoyed working with Dr. Frahm and appreciate her expert level of care. Dr. Frahm provides comprehensive dental care and expertise in a spa-like setting and brings more than a decade of dental experience to her leadership role.

According to Dr. Kern, “When I made the decision to retire and consult with dentists throughout the United States, I knew I wanted to recruit a dentist who would continue to care for my patients with a compassionate spirit and an amazing clinical skill set. That is who Dr. Sarah Frahm is.”

About Dr. Sarah Frahm

Dr. Sarah Frahm is a lifelong learner who is committed to providing comprehensive dental care to her patients.  She uses the most advanced dental techniques and technology to ensure patient comfort and lasting results.  Prior to taking the helm at her own practice in Monterey, Dr. Frahm worked as a dentist in Salinas.

Dr. Frahm received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2003 where she was the proud recipient of the Edward H. Karl Award for the senior who demonstrates the most significant professional and academic growth. Dr. Frahm graduated from Cornell College in 1998 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Biology and Business.

She has completed hundreds of hours of postdoctoral training in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Frahm also possesses expertise in the design and placement of New You dentures, an innovative approach to the replacement of missing teeth for optimum fit, and appearance enhancement.   

Dr. Frahm continues to complete more than 100 hours of advanced, postdoctoral training each year, earning recognition from dental experts around the country for her knowledge in the areas of cosmetic, general and restorative dentistry. Her career learning highlights include:

Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies - Postgraduate course completion in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

Spear Education – Postgraduate program completion in comprehensive dental care and advanced occlusion techniques.

Dentists for Oral Conscious Sedation – certification in the administration of sedation care.

New You Dentures – course completion for precision cosmetic denture fitting, and implant-secured denture placement for superior function.

In addition, Dr. Frahm is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Monterey Bay Dental Society, and the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics.

Committed to our local community, Dr. Frahm is an active member of Rotary International, where she was recognized with a “Distinguished Rotarian” award in 2015.  She also serves on the YMCA board and IMPOWER executive committee and is a member of the Robert Down PTA.

Dr. Frahm is originally from Iowa and lived in Taiwan for five years where she enjoyed extensive travel through Asia. She is married to a fellow Cornell College graduate who is a civilian attorney for the Defense Language Institute in Monterey.  They have three young children and live in Pacific Grove.  Dr. Frahm and her family delight in travel, and love to explore National Parks. She enjoys hikes with her family and spending weekends at the beach. Always attentive to detail and passionate about artistic expression, Dr. Frahm’s hobbies include embroidery and yoga.
