Sugar Science to host Three Pie Dough-Making Masterclasses on Saturday, April 18, 2026
March 24, 2026. Carmel, CA – Here's a fun outing for family and friends and a great reason to visit Carmel-by-the-Sea. Sharon Runde, owner of Sugar Science, a handcrafted baking company, invites the community to learn the art of making pie dough with an interactive hands-on pie dough masterclass on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
This special class offers students the opportunity to learn the art and science of pie dough while creating their own parbaked pie crust to take home. Participants will be provided with all the ingredients and tools to make the perfect pie crust and will be guided step-by-step from combining ingredients, to mixing the dough, and preparing the crust. Sharon will have pie filling available for purchase so attendees will have the option to take home a fully prepared pie.
Designed for all skill levels, the experience focuses on dough mixing techniques, Sharon's experiences in making every mistake possible and how to avoid them, and creative designs for pie crust edging. Whether attending with friends, family, or solo, guests can expect a relaxed and welcoming environment that reflects Sugar Science's signature blend of artistry and hospitality.
"Sugar Science is about sharing the joy of my extensive childhood baking, teaching through personal experiences, and making memories that will last a lifetime," said Sharon Runde, owner and founder. "This class is a fun way to learn new skills, ask questions, and leave with something delicious that you're proud to share."
