Local Disc Golf Club Hosts Tournament to be held the Lower Presidio Historic Park in Monterey on Saturday, August 13, 2016

 

Monterey, CA – July, 2016  - The Monterey Stinging Jellies Disc Golf Club has partnered with the City of Monterey and Old Monterey Foundation to host the very first disc golf tournament at the Lower Presidio Historic Park on Saturday, August 13th.

The tournament is sanctioned by disc golf’s governing body, the Professional Disc Golf Association, and will feature 18 holes of exciting, high-flying disc golf action. Tee off begins at 10am.

With beautiful views overlooking the Monterey Bay, the Lower Presidio Historic Park is the perfect venue for the 72 competitors to put their skills to the test. Admission is free for spectators who are encouraged to come enjoy the competition and get acquainted with the rapidly growing sport of disc golf.

Expect to see many smiles on the faces of golfers as they send their specialized discs gliding hundreds of feet through the air with pinpoint accuracy.

The Monterey Stinging Jellies was established in 2006 and operates primarily as the stewards of the Ryan Ranch Disc Golf Course located at 10 Park Road in Monterey.
