Monterey, CA. April 21, 2021.  Come to Mother’s Day on Old Fisherman’s Wharf to enjoy a fun experience for Mom and the whole family!

Mother’s Day on the Wharf...

Every Mother will receive a beautiful long-stemmed rose given to them at the head of the Wharf from 1 pm – 6 pm on Mother’s Day, May 9th.

The Wharf will be decorated for fun photo ops for Mother’s Day including some giant gold and red roses.

Also, everyone is invited to participate in the Old Fisherman's Wharf’s “Ode to Mom Photo & Poem Contest on the Wharf” during the entire month of May. 

Some of the Wharf restaurants will be offering delicious Mother’s Day lunch and dinner specials, too.  Crabby Jim’s will feature Best of the Sea and Best of the Land Combo Plate – a 5 course meal for 2 people with a bottle of house wine.  Old Fisherman’s Grotto and Scales Seafood & Steaks will feature Salmon Wellington with Dill Hollandaise Sauce served with Fire Roasted Corn, Grilled Baby Asparagus and Sweet Potato Risotto. Other restaurants will be announcing their specials soon, too.

The candy shops love Mother’s Day and will have some creative confection specials, too. Candy World will have a golden box of Godiva chocolates special for Mom. Carousel Candies will feature assorted pink pastel chocolate covered Jumbo Driscoll Strawberries and other special assorted chocolate gift boxes for Mom.

The Wharf merchants will also feature some fun gift items Mother’s Day, too.

Indoor and Outdoor dining are now available as well as To Go/Curbside. Get your Spring “steps in” while strolling and shopping at the fun Wharf shops. It’s also a wonderful time to see our Monterey Bay and lots of marine wildlife with a variety of Whale Watching, Fishing, Sailing and Glass Bottom Boat Trips offered by businesses on the Wharf.

About “Old Fisherman’s Wharf’s Ode to Mom Photo & Poem Contest”

Fisherman’s Wharf Association is pleased to announce another free to enter photo and poem contest for the month of May.

To enter the “Ode to Mom Photo & Poem Contest on the Wharf”, take a photo on the Wharf that features a rose in the image PLUS accompany your submission with a short poem about Mom to enter this contest.

Be sure to include a one-sentence photo caption, your name, address, email and phone number. Please indicate in the email submission if the photo can be used on the Wharf’s social media with your photo credit (who took the photo and what it describes).  The subject line of the email should state Ode to Mom Photo & Poem Contest.

Photo submissions should be submitted to [email protected] before May 31, 2021. 

There will be a total of 6 winners and the first-place winner will receive $100 in Wharf Dollars, the second-place winner will receive $50 in Wharf Dollars and third place winner will receive $25 in Wharf Dollars) to be redeemed at any Wharf merchant. Three additional Honorable Mention Winners will receive a Sweet Treat ($25 value) from Candy World or Carousel Candies or Wharf Chocolate Factory. Winners will be notified by June 20, 2021.
 
New! Please note that the Waterfront Parking Lot adjacent to Old Fisherman’s Wharf now features four automated Pay Stations. Please be sure to prepay for your parking before exiting the Waterfront Parking Lot. Courtesy of the City of Monterey, from Monday through Thursday, there is two hours free parking for anyone from the ‘939’ zip code in the Waterfront Parking Lot if you ask for a validation sticker from a Wharf merchant and paste it onto the parking ticket before prepaying for your parking at one of the four Pay Stations. There is a button to push on each Pay Station to connect you to someone who can answer any questions.
