North Fremont Business District of Monterey to host a valuable free business seminar, “Growing Your Business With GO-BIZ” on Monday, April 10, 2023

The community is invited to join the North Fremont Business District of Monterey at a valuable business seminar, “Growing Your Business with Go-Biz” presented by Manjeet McCarthy. The event will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center, Seaside Room, Enter at Gate 5, 2004 Fairground Road, Monterey, CA.

 

Manjeet McCarthy is the Senior Permit Specialist with the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (G0-BIZ). In her presentation, she will discuss:

 

-          The role of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-BIZ)

-          Growing your business with the valuable services provided by the GO-BIZ team

-          How members of the GO-BIZ team set up confidential meetings with clients who are having difficulty obtaining state business and environmental permits and approvals

-          How the GO-BIZ team convenes meetings with government agencies

-          How the GO-BIZ team assists with permit best practices and clearing of regulatory hurdle with business owners, consultants, and industry representatives to identify roadblocks presented by general state and local approval processes

About Manjeet McCarthy

 

Manjeet McCarthy is the Senior Permit Specialist with the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (G0-BIZ). She has more than 20 years of service with the State of California working to support businesses that navigate permitting process to open their doors, create jobs and give back to the California economy. In her current position, she serves 45 counties in the Northern half of the state. Her primary focus is finding ways to streamline processes in meeting the needs of businesses and helping them navigate local, state, and federal permitting landscape and economic development. She helps approximately 500 businesses annually to understand compliance requirements, provide site selection and incentive navigation services as they continue operations in California. In addition to helping businesses navigate the permitting process, she also serves as meditator to help resolve permitting challenges that companies may confront with regulating agencies. She also helps convene pre – application meetings with regulatory agencies at the onset of business development for projects that come to California. Aside from one-on-one direct work with businesses and communities, she maintains online permit assistance tools for GO-Biz such as the statewide permit management system, CalGOLD, the customer service tool, Zen Desk, and the development of industry specific quick start guides.
