July 2022. Monterey, CA. The 53rd Annual Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival is fast approaching on July 16 and 17, 2022 at the beautiful Monterey Fair & Event Center.
Enjoy a wide range of Celtic cuisines such as fish and chips and banger sausages as well as an array of delicious American and Mexican food.

NEW! Beer Garden at the Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival
New this year will be a special Beer Garden. This craft beer garden will be set amongst the oak trees with live music and a wide variety of craft beers on tap. The new and highly anticipated Beer Garden will be set up with over eight local, domestic, and imported beers and ciders. Relax the patio with a cold draft beer or cider and enjoy live music and good company.
Whisky Tasting
Come enjoy one of Scotland's greatest exports, fine single malt Scotch Whisky. The two Whisky Tasting events each day (separate fee) will provide you with a greater understanding of the history, distillation process, and various tasting characteristics of fine whiskies.

About the Monterey Scottish Games and Celtic Festival
Tickets are now on sale for the 53rd Annual Monterey Scottish Games and Celtic Festival at montereycelticfest.com. Hosted by the Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Association, the festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17, 2022, on 22 oak-studded acres at the beautiful Monterey County Fair and Event Center.
Fun for all ages, this is THE premier food, music, and Celtic festival on the west coast, including world champion judges and enjoy twelve competing pipe bands, thrilling Scottish athletics, drum major competitions, a new beer garden and a VIP lounge, whisky tasting seminars, Highland dancing, sheep dog agility demonstrations, seven Celtic band performances, traditional and local food vendors, great Celtic crafts, clans and living history reenactors, a blacksmith, and lots of fun kids games including a new miniature golf course.

Saturday Night Ceilidh at the Monterey Hyatt Resort & Spa
The Festival’s legendary ceilidh is back on Saturday from 6:00 - 9:30pm at the Hyatt Resort Ballroom. Enjoy dinner, drinks, live entertainment by Seven Nations, The Gothard Sisters, Peter Daldry, pipe band performances, highland dancing, drum fanfare, raffle and a huge dance floor. New this year is a kitchen piping contest. Next door to the ceilidh from 7:30 - 9:00pm at the Hyatt, ten top bagpipers from across Europe and North America will compete in a freestyle bagpiping contest judged on proficiency, creativity, and originality with the world’s highest prize. Featuring talented Highland dancers, internationally known Celtic entertainers, athletes, clans, kids’ games, mini- golf, whisky tasting, delicious food, beer garden, great crafts, sheepdog herding, and much more. In addition to traditional pipes and drums, dancing, and Scottish heavy athletic competitions, the festival is a celebration full of demonstrations, performances, and musical entertainment related to many aspects of Scottish and Gaelic culture. Dozens of kilted athletes, bagpipers, and dancers will be back in Monterey entertaining Festival-goers who will enjoy experiencing and learning more about the rich Celtic culture.
The festival also presents fascinating historical re-enactments portraying life in 16th century Scotland. Performers will entertain and educate attendees through the medium of living history. On site again with outstanding demonstrations, lavish costumes, and displays will be the St. Andrews Society featuring Mary Queen of Scots and her court, and Clan Galbraith.
