About SOCIALLY DISTANCED A Keepsake Journal

How can we all better cope with the continuing Pandemic and manage the fears associated with it? One effective strategy is to be hopeful, stay positive and retain our sense of humor about the situations we currently face … and author Robert Stern is helping us to do just that!

SOCIALLY DISTANCED A Keepsake Journal was written by author Robert Stern in humorous rhyme accompanied by delightful illustrations, with lots of room in the paperback book or e-book version to record thoughts and activities during the COVID-19 period. This fun new book combines humor and journaling to help everyone better deal with what’s happening today.  It enables us to create something special to keep and look back on in better times and remember how we got through it all!

Stern has also found that many customers are buying multiple books for family and friends and has created a “Buy 4 Books, 5th Book is Free” limited time promotional offer available on the website as he feels the more people who receive and write in the journal, the better off we all will be! It also makes the perfect Stocking Stuffer!

Author Robert Stern explains, “Such unique times deserve an equally unique keepsake. I've written all my life -- books, lyrics, and poetry, because I have been drawn to the power of words and how they have been able to encompass moments so vividly. I find writing also to be very cathartic and it helps me to process my thoughts and feelings. I am hoping that others will enjoy the process of writing rhymes and sharing them with us as well.”

He adds, “I recognize that we are all in an important time in our lives with the Pandemic and wanted to provide some humor and an interactive journal to help. As we know, life is often challenging. Nothing is permanent and every day is a new one to feel more positive and in control of your life. In fact, many experts recommend journaling because it can improve your mood and may be good for your mental health. I believe this book can provide a cathartic experience to help us all!”

Stern also suggests, “For parents of children ages 12 and older, this is a great tool to help kids feel better while writing down their positive and negative feelings about the situation. For all adults, this book also inspires us to record what these months are like for each of us. Why not preserve this moment in history with the Socially Distanced journal, so you can record and retell the stories of such a significant era? It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone in our lives today who has helped us through these recent months.”

Stern believes in the importance of parents connecting with their children at this time. He feels that the kids want to know if they're going to be okay and that their parents are going to be okay, too. At all ages, this is a common thread. He urges parents to encourage their kids to live in possibility with positivity.

He suggests, “The best thing you can do with younger children is show them the illustrations in the book and read to them the funny verse like a children’s book and having them express what’s going on for them and then reassure them.”

Stern’s experience over the past months is that families are getting closer together. This is a plus overall as there is a lot more positive attachment, especially if the parents are prudent in communicating honestly.

In households hit economically, the challenges are more depending on the severity of the impact. Another way to reduce stress for kids and parents alike is structure. This requires planning and anticipating needs and issues to eliminate the need to make rushed decisions. Stern explains, “In the military, we called it contingency planning. It’s preparedness and having kids learning at home out of school requires preparedness.”
